Working With
Ledgewood Builders

Building a new home can be overwhelming, but working with Ledgewood means you can relax and enjoy the process. There are four phases in building a new home with us: Planning, Designing, Building, and Finishing. We will communicate with you regularly throughout each phase and ensure that all benchmarks are being met within to our agreed-upon timeline.

Planning

During the planning phase, we will get to know you and your family and understand what type of home you would like to build. We will go over our collection of floor plans and help you choose one that best fits your needs. If you prefer to have a custom floor plan created, you will have the opportunity to work with our architect to design exactly what you need.

Once the floor plan is confirmed, our team will send you an official purchase agreement. The purchase agreement must be signed and financing must be finalized before moving onto the next phase of building your home.

Designing

Designing your home is the fun part! During this phase of the process, you will work closely with our designer to choose the selections for your home—like flooring, cabinets, countertops, appliances, interior and exterior paint colors, and light fixtures. This process typically includes 4-5 meetings and will conclude with a final meeting to confirm all selections. Once all selections have been approved and finalized, the build process can begin.

Building

The building process starts with submitting a building permit to the city. Once that is approved, your lot can be staked and we can break ground. Once the dig is complete, the foundation will be poured. Following the foundation is framing, then electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Drywall, texture, and paint are done next, and interior finishes will be installed once those steps are complete.

Finishing

The finishing phase is where we get down to the nitty gritty. During this time, we’ll have final inspections and the homeowner walk-through. This is a time for you to review the home with us in great detail and call out anything that you feed needs addressed. Once the inspection is approved and all items from the homeowner walkthrough are complete, you will closing day and receive the keys to your new home!
